Leadership Insights for January 15th, 2025

Welcome to Leadership Insights! Each week, we curate transformative leadership insights and add our own expertise to help you lead with purpose and impact. Whether you’re a seasoned executive or an emerging leader, you’ll find actionable wisdom in every edition.

Aloha, CAREtoLead® family! As I pack my bags for Hawaii and some well-deserved downtime, I’ve been thinking about how powerful rest can be for us as leaders. Let’s be honest—burnout doesn’t make anyone a better leader. Taking intentional time to recharge isn’t slacking; it’s a smart strategy.

Even if you can’t take off for Hawaii in an instant, you can take a mental break. Here’s how: plan “white space” days into your schedule. Every quarter, block off one or two days to step back from work completely. Use the time for things that energize you—whether it’s a long walk, catching up on a good book, or just breathing without a to-do list hanging over your head. These moments of pause give you the clarity and focus to show up as your best self, both for your team and for yourself.
