Leadership Insights for October 8th, 2025

Welcome to Leadership Insights! Each week, we curate transformative leadership insights and add our own expertise to help you lead with purpose and impact. Whether you’re a seasoned executive or an emerging leader, you’ll find actionable wisdom in every edition.

Here’s a leadership practice you’ve likely never tried: Audit your decision-making energy. We often assume that every decision deserves equal time and attention, but the truth is, some choices drain us unnecessarily and take energy away from what truly matters.

This week, try a “decision audit.” For one day, jot down every decision you make—big or small. At the end of the day, review the list and categorize decisions into three groups: Essential, Delegatable, or Unnecessary. Then, commit to delegating or eliminating at least three decisions going forward. By freeing up mental bandwidth, you’ll have more focus and energy for the leadership tasks that truly move the needle.

It requires courage to move beyond sympathy and connect at a deeper level. When leaders practice empathy this way, trust, communication, and connection all grow stronger.

Leadership experts Jamie Woolf and Christopher Bell dive into “power blindness” and how it quietly turns good intentions into toxic patterns. If you’ve ever had a bad boss (or worried about becoming one), this is a powerful listen with practical tools to lead better.
