Leadership Insights for February 11th, 2026

Welcome to Leadership Insights! Each week, we curate transformative leadership insights and add our own expertise to help you lead with purpose and impact. Whether you’re a seasoned executive or an emerging leader, you’ll find actionable wisdom in every edition.

You think you know how you show up as a leader. You’re probably wrong.

Most leaders overestimate their influence and underestimate their impact. Influence is what you think you have—your intentions, your efforts, your self-image. Impact is what actually happens—how people experience you, what they remember, what changes because of you.

This week, conduct an “impact audit.” Ask three people two simple questions: “What’s one thing I do that positively impacts you?” and “What’s one thing I do that negatively impacts you?” Don’t explain, don’t defend—just listen. The gap between your intended influence and actual impact is where your leadership blind spots live. Close that gap, and you’ll amplify your effectiveness overnight.

What if you could see your leadership blind spots in 90 minutes?

Most leaders don’t struggle because they lack skills—they struggle because they can’t see the patterns holding them back. The gap between how you think you lead and how others experience you is where the real work happens.

That’s exactly what Pattern Recognition does. It’s a focused 90-minute session where we map your leadership patterns, identify what’s working and what’s costing you, and build new practices that create the impact you actually want. Then we follow up to ensure the insights stick. The whole process takes two weeks.

What’s included:

  • 90-minute intensive pattern-mapping session
  • Real-time analysis of your leadership blind spots
  • Custom framework tailored to your specific patterns
  • Follow-up session to track progress and adjust

One client described it as “finally seeing myself clearly for the first time in my career.”

Investment: $1,500. Only 2 spots left this quarter.

If you’re ready to stop guessing and start leading with clarity, reply to this email with “Pattern Recognition” and let’s talk.

This Week’s Posts We Love

LinkedIn Spotlight by Simon Sinek

This week’s LinkedIn spotlight goes to a powerful clip from Simon Sinek’s A Bit of Optimism podcast with Professor Angela Duckworth, where they reframe burnout as an emotion—not a personal failure. Like any emotion, burnout is something to notice, sit with, and get curious about instead of pushing through or ignoring. I loved this take because it invites leaders to slow down and ask why before trying to “fix” themselves or their teams. Give it a watch and ask yourself: what might your burnout be trying to tell you?

Podcast Spotlight: “Driven: Danica Patrick on High-Performance Mindset and Modern Leadership” from the Take Command Podcast

This week’s podcast spotlight features one of my favorite kinds of leadership role models: a strong, confident woman who thrived in a male-dominated field. On Take Command, Danica Patrick shares how discipline, grit, and a willingness to get uncomfortable shaped her journey from go-karting at 10 to breaking barriers in IndyCar and beyond. I loved her reminder that confidence is built by stretching your comfort zone and trusting the process, even when the path looks unconventional.

Influence The Psychology of Persuasion, by Robert B. Cialdini, PhD

What makes people say yes? Cialdini identifies six universal principles of influence—reciprocity, commitment, social proof, authority, liking, and scarcity—that shape human decision-making. The book breaks down the psychology behind why we comply, why we resist, and how these patterns show up in everything from sales to leadership.

In my work with executives, I see these principles play out constantly—especially when leaders underestimate how much their authority position amplifies every word and gesture. Understanding influence isn’t about manipulation; it’s about recognizing the invisible forces that shape how your leadership lands.

“The Impact and Benefits of Good Leadership in the Workplace” by Leanna Seah

This article explores how leadership quality directly affects team performance, retention, and organizational culture. Seah outlines the measurable differences between good and poor leadership—from employee engagement scores to productivity metrics—and identifies the specific behaviors that create positive impact.

The connection to this week’s theme is clear: leaders often focus on their influence (what they intend) while overlooking their impact (what actually happens). This article provides a useful framework for measuring the gap between the two and understanding which leadership behaviors create the outcomes you actually want.

Closing Thoughts

The leaders who grow fastest aren’t the ones with the most confidence—they’re the ones willing to ask hard questions and hear honest answers.

This week, run your impact audit. Ask three people what you do that helps them and what you do that doesn’t. Listen without defending. Then ask yourself: what’s one thing I can change based on what I heard?

Hit reply and tell me what you discovered. I read every response, and I’m genuinely curious what patterns emerge when you close the gap between influence and impact.
