Leadership Insights August 26, 2026

Good morning. Short one this week. The story doesn’t need more.

A few weeks ago I ran a session with an operations team at a client company. Their big gripe, and it was a real one: the rest of the organization doesn’t see them. They feel invisible. So I asked the obvious question. What could you do to build relationships with those other departments?

Dead silence. I mean dead. I let it sit, because silence is data. Finally someone said, “We just don’t have time for that.”

Here’s the part I couldn’t say right away. Three weeks earlier, this same team had written its own values. Their words, their list, nobody imposed it. One of them was build relationships. Exactly those words.

That’s it. That’s the newsletter. No book this week either. Just find your leadership team’s values document and read it next to the last thing the team actually said in a meeting.

If you’re noticing these dynamics playing out across your leadership team, not just in yourself, that’s where the CARE to Lead framework lives. It’s the team-level version of this work. cynthiacorsetti.com/caretolead

The team’s fine, for the record. The silence was the start of something, not the end.
